This week we had the pleasure of interviewing the seniors on the boys basketball team. Justin Sanchez, Lucas Perry, Nick Campbell, and Josh Zotto have all had a great season of basketball. They were asked how they feel their season went. Lucas replied saying, “It went” and then Josh added “We started off strong” followed by Nick saying, “Then we took a dump.” They all agreed that they would give the team a c-. Justin said, “I feel like we didn’t translate from practice to the game.” Nick added, “At practice we were like state champions. But at the games we didn’t even make the playoffs.” After they were asked what some of their favorite memories are, Josh replied, “The bus rides or the locker room hang outs.” About the bus rides Justin said, “The team yo. We choppin it up.” After, Nick said, “Dumping sweet tea on Zack.” Moving onto some of their highlights Nick said, “One of my highlights was beating Junction at home.” Followed by Justin saying, “Beating Basalt also.” Lucas said that his highlight of the season was winning on senior night. With this being their last year as Palisade Bulldog’s, they were asked what they are going to miss the most. Lucas said, “Probably the bond with my teammates and the seniors.” Justin added, “I am definitely going to miss just being a part of the team and having people to call family.” Nick continued to say, “I might miss Coach Cory’s practices, but sometimes it was rough.” Lastly, the boys were asked what advice they would give to an incoming freshman athlete. Justin said, “Just give it 100%. Give it all you got even though it might be your last one,” followed by Nick saying, “Do right the first time and don’t give up.” These guys have had a good season with so much more ahead of them.
