Get ready, because, at the end of this month, our track season finally starts! After the long year, we can all start to keep up with the track team. There are many different events in track. Including long-distance runners, mid-distance runners, sprinters who run the short stuff, jumpers, and hurdlers, and we can’t forget the throwers.
We had the chance to interview some of our track runners this week and asked them some questions about how they see their season going. We were able to interview returning senior Alex Everett, and juniors Brady Russell and Marcus Royster, along with first-year joining the track team, sophomore Abigail Price.
We asked Alex what he thought were going to be some challenges he would have this year and he answered, “Definitely having a younger group as a team because most of our team will definitely all be sophomores and freshmen.” When we interviewed Marcus, we asked him how he thought this year was going to pan out, “Great, it is gonna be a lot better than last year's season because last year was a circus show.” We talked to Abigail and wanted to hear what her favorite part about track is, “ I really like distance running, I've done cross country before so I am excited to get to that again as a continuation of cross country. And then also hanging out with my teammates is really fun.” Lastly, we were able to chat with Brady. We asked him what he was most excited about for this season, he said, “I’m just excited to run again.”
With track coming up we can see that our track team is already fired up and ready to start. Make sure to stay updated with where and when they have meets on the pack app and check in if you go to get those pack points!
