As the temperature starts to rise the Palisade girls' golfers prepare for the 2023 golf season. Head Coach Jan Norell has been preparing all winter buying gear, preparing the players, and now finalizing the varsity schedule. In just two weeks the Golf team will be starting practices that will soon be followed by their first tournament. You can only imagine the nerves when the girls step onto the course for their first tournament of the season. To start, JV and Varsity will be participating in the classic Palisade kickoff tournament at their home course. Next up the Lincoln Park scramble teams. Senior Kyndall Toft, one of the girls on the Regional team, gives her input on the season to come. “My favorite part of golf is getting to play a bunch of different golf courses, of which bring their own challenges and difficulties. My all-time favorite part of the team is just being able to support each other even though golf is such an individual sport. At the end of the day it’s really nice to know I have such a loving and supportive team to help get me through each practice and tournament.” The season has not yet started, but the girls are preparing themselves to take on the regional and state course already. Senior Jadyn Mullaney “I feel it is going to help our program in the future to have as many freshmen as we do. It makes me very happy as a senior to see them where I was at one time and I'm excited to see them grow.” With six seniors on the team, they are expected to have an incredible season. Start to support your Palisade Girls Golf team as they get ready for the intense upcoming season.
