This year's X-Games took place this weekend in Aspen making many avid skiers and snowboarders tune in to see the amazing athletes compete. The games started on Friday the 27th, and ended that Sunday the 29th. Participants from all over the world, including places like China, Japan, U.K. Canada, and France came to Aspen to compete in extreme sports throughout the weekend. The X-Games was a success for many people including Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Scotty James, Colby Stevenson, and many others who managed to win gold.
Emily Hardin, a freshman at Palisade, an avid skier, and a former ski racer said, “I don’t really pay too much attention to the X-Games because I find I enjoy watching the Olympics more since ski racing is something I used to do. I still think the X-Games are really cool and watching people be able to do that is so impressive. I’ve been skiing since I was 2 and I really love it. My favorite part is just like going down the hill because it's so freeing, especially when it's the mornings and evenings because it’s so beautiful. Skiing with friends is also a lot of fun, but even by yourself, skiing can just be so peaceful. It’s just a lot of fun to do and is really relaxing too. I ski raced for PRC from the time I was five until the time I was 13. My favorite thing about ski racing was honestly just training, mapping the course, and just always figuring out what you need to do better so you can do the best you can when competing.”
