Our outstanding Palisade Chamber Choir was presented with the incredible opportunity to perform at the Colorado Music Educators Association this past week, January 27 and 28. The choir was selected to be showcased at the conference, and stay in the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. The Chamber performed six pieces at the event, but were also able to spend time bonding as a choir throughout the trip. On the first night there, the choir had a team dinner at The Macaroni Grill, which was a great first night according to the choir. The performance itself also went incredibly well. “Hearing ourselves in the Broadmoor Hall was really shocking because we sounded incredible. We had a beautiful tone, and it was lovely to hear what we were going to sound like while performing.” said Blake Larson, a sophomore in the Chamber Choir. He has been doing choir since the second semester of his freshman year, and he has been doing theater since he was 8 years old. “Warming up for this performance was definitely a different experience than warming up for every other performance, just because at this moment we felt more connected to each other than we have ever before. That's why we felt we did so incredibly well at this performance. As we went out we knew how much this meant to all of us and how much it meant to Mr. Doty, our director, and how much a privilege performing at this event really was. I think this was the best we've ever performed.” In fact, their performance was so incredible, it was proven to have left the choir director, as well as the audience in tears. It's incredible to see so many people come together over their love of music and performing. Congratulations to our Palisade Chamber Choir!
