On Monday, January 30th, KIC Week started here at Palisade High School and we are dedicating this and next week to focus on what matters most, which is kindness.
KIC stands for kindness and is contagious. According to our principal, Mr. Bollinger, “The goal is to just really bring awareness to being kind to others.” Kindness is one thing that can be so common yet so rare. Mr. Bolinger says, “I think sometimes there are people who are naturally kind and sometimes people aren’t so I think the purpose is to really be intentional about what you're doing. So sometimes you put on activities so that you’re more intentional and aware and purposeful on why you behave the way you behave.” KIC Week activities include an assembly and a Cut the Flow event. The Cut the Flow or Let It Grow event is a very fun and entertaining event. Five teachers here at Palisade have volunteered to put themselves in a position many people would fear. One of these five teachers will have the hair on their head or beard shaved off. The teacher that has the most money donations will be the one to become bald or beardless. On February 10th there will be a KIC Week assembly here at Palisade. This assembly will bring awareness about being kind and the winners for Cut the Flow or Let It Grow will also be announced. So don’t forget to donate some cash to the teacher that you want to see bald or beardless, Mr. Fitz, Mr. Franklin, Mr. Korte, Mr. Smith, or Mr. Hitchcock.
Join the Palisade High School student body and represent your kindness this week, and every day after that.
