The entire World cup takes about 25 days to crown a winner, 32 teams enter meaning it has to be quick in order to have a country out of the 32 win quickly, which means there's always a bunch of updates. The final 16 stages have now ended, and we enter the quarter-final on Friday. The team apart of this are the Netherlands, Argentina, Croatia, Brazil, England, France, Mongolia, and Portugal. Within these teams, there's plenty of star power, great matchups, and the top players who dream about holding the trophy on December 18th. On Friday after everyone's two-day break Brazil and Croatia will start us off. People were worried about Brazil player, Neymar due to his ankle injury in past games. Fans were surprised that his coach announced his return to the world cup before their game against South Korea but as always Neymar looked like nothing had happened and even scored a penalty shot for Brazil. Palisade student Izaiuh Jones states, “I’m new to watching soccer but think once you can get yourself to understand it it’s a really good sport to watch. My favorite to win is probably going to be Brazil.” As said before, Brazil is most definitely the most desired team to win this world cup, and with the players they have, they most definitely can. A player to watch is Richarlison, he is 25 years old. What makes him stand out isn't his skill on the ball but his finishing. The next game that will be a must watch in the quarter-finals is between Netherlands and Argentina. So far in Qatar Argentina player, Messi has delivered, as expected. After Brazil Argentina is the favorite to win. The World Cup this year is full of surprises and probably more to come.
