Zero-Covid Protests in China

Covid has taken a comeback that happened unexpectedly, not only that but due to this China has taken extra precautions, although the citizens of China did not particularly like the strict precautions that were being set. The policy was such an inhuman act to do to a whole state, even though the government was only just trying to get rid of any cases of Covid that have entered the state. When someone was to have Covid there would be very strict rules to follow.

These rules consist of: Strict lockdowns imposed by authorities-even if there were minimal cases that were found, mass testing in places where the Covid cases were found; people who were found to have Covid, or has been around anyone who has had Covid, will be isolated at home, or placed under quarantine at government facilities; any area around the breakout including businesses and schools will be put into mandatory lockdown; shops will be closed during the lockdown except those of them that are selling foods. Furthermore the lockdowns will continue until no further cases are discovered.

The protests in China brought thousands of people together to stop the use of such strict rules, and the meet was safe for the most part, due to them all wearing masks. Although many may not understand the circumstances that are going to come while easing the restrictions. As of December 5, 2022, the Covid cases are still out of control, so without any restrictions at all who knows how bad Covid is going to affect the people. Zoey Lovelace said in an interview, “With the restrictions easing, it may take a bigger toll on the government due to many more cases being discovered, and now not requiring PDR to enter public transportation, it could get out of control.”

While the new eased rules are going to be: lockdowns are now targeted to buildings, units or floors rather than to whole neighborhoods or cities, "High-risk" areas are allowed to come out of lockdown in five days if no new cases are found, schools to remain open if there's no wider campus outbreak, people with Covid are no longer required to go to a centralized government quarantine facility, PCR tests are no longer required to enter public transport, restaurants, gyms, and other public buildings, with the exception of schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. So be careful out there, there is going to be something out there that will be out of our control.
