As of right now there are many donations going on at the moment including Morgan Degeorge’s stuffed animal donation. The donation started on Monday, November 28 and ended Friday 9. Morgan has estimated that there are around 30 stuffed animals that have been donated, there will be a finalized count when the donation is over on the 9th of this month. The donation was a project for the IB program. The role of the project was to do something active and also something that helps the community. The stuffed animals are going to be donated to many foster kids. In hopes it will brighten their day, and in return it will give them something to cherish.
Morgan said in an interview, “Originally the stuffed animals were going to be donated to the hospitals, but that wouldn’t have worked out. The kids would have needed brand new toys or to be specially cleaned, if not I would have been responsible for many of them becoming ill, and I wouldn’t want them to become sick because of me.” Elaborating on this the kids that are in the hospital were first choice, but it was the foster kids who have been chosen to be lucky.
The second donation that is going on at the moment is going to be the hygiene drive. This donation is being taken care of by FCLA, and Lynessa Asplund is one of these members. This is Lynessa Asplund’s first time contributing to the hygiene donation. These donations are going to be directed towards Pathway Village. So far there are more than 80 donations that have been raised. This donation started around Wednesday after Thanksgiving break on the 30th. So go show support to Pathway Village and the foster kids, and donate if you are able.
