The Palisade Boys Basketball Team has started out their season well fought, yet has taken the bumpy side of the road in their last few games. In their game against Glenwood on Friday the 20th, much was battled between both teams, resulting in a tough loss for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs with a record of 8-8 played against the Demons with a 8-7 record. This battle was close with a final score of 42-57. After the fight, our Bulldogs couldn’t hang on much longer. Senior Nick Campbell, one of the team captains, had a say in their season so far as well as the game on Friday. When asked how he feels their season is going so far he said “It started off pretty strong. We hit a speed bump and we are going downhill, but I think we will pick it back up.” Considering the game on Friday he said “It started off as a well fought game, but then we kind of got lazy and lackadaisical.” In situations like these perseverance is the key to success. He talked about their strengths saying “We had some pretty good assists at times we needed them as well as shots. I guess it wasn't enough.” On the other hand, Nick talked about some of their weaknesses and said “Sometimes we argue back at each other, but I feel like we are becoming more of a family.” After Glenwood won the game Nick said “I was kind of mad and upset. We should have held them where they were but we didn’t do that.” According to Nick, something that they can work on for the next game is “Become more of a team and trust in each other.” Although these last few games weren’t the best for our Bulldogs, it is not the end. Their next game is on Thursday the 26 at 7:30 in the main gym at Palisade. Come on out and pack the gym to support our boys as they prepare to take on the Warriors.
