Palisade High School is in preparation for the winter formal where the theme is “Dancing Under the Northern Lights.” While winter formal isn’t as popular as Homecoming or Prom it still draws a decent amount of attention and students. The dance is set to take place on February 4th at Lincoln Park Barn. It starts at 7 p.m and goes into the night until 10 p.m. Ticket sales will start the week before the dance. The ticket options according to PHS Spirit are:
“Couple bundle: $30 for two tickets
(Only sold presale at lunch)”
“Single tickets: Presale- $20 for one ticket
At the door: $25 for one ticket”
As a senior going into the winter formal Sophia DeWitt says, “I am really excited because last year's winter formal was probably my favorite dance, to be honest. I feel like the music was very good and we are also doing it at a different location and so I am really excited to see how it turns out. DeWitt is a part of Palisade High School’s student council who puts on the dances.
Along with most of the dances, there is a dress code. Originally PHS Spirit said long dresses but in their most recent post they said any length of a dress is okay. As far as the rest of the attire, formal is encouraged and semi-formal is allowed. Some of the other rules include no hats, no stains, tears, or wrinkles. Tops should not include hoodies or plain t-shirts with no collar or buttons. To double-check specifications and rules check out the @phsspirt Instagram page. To be able to go to the dance a student must not have more than 2 unexcused tardies or absences between January 24 and February 4.
