Boys Basketball takes team bonding to another level last weekend by shaving their heads in the hotel room. Only some of the new kids to the team shaved their heads to show their dedication to the team and to show they are with the team through the ups and downs. Julian Garza a sophomore on the basketball team and one of the players who shaved his head said “It's just something that coach Cory has always done with his previous teams and he did it last year with our team where one day a year during the season we shave our heads. It's a good team bonding activity that shows we can trust whoever is cutting our hair and shows how dedicated we are.” Some of the other athletes that got their heads shaved were Luke Fay, Cyrus Lawrence, Lane Reppelius, Gunner Stafford, Kaleb Reed, Hunter Howard, and LJ Ballenger. “A lot of people think it is dumb and not worth it but personally I think I look pretty cute like this,” Julian stated. The team had their hair cut on Friday and then proceeded to win the next two games they played. They beat Custer County 63-48 and Meeker 58-51. “The games went well, we won both and ended up winning the tournament we were at so that was pretty cool. I honestly think it's because we shaved our heads.” Julian stated. The team has another tournament this week so we will have to wait and see if the winning streak continues after they shaved their hair.
