On December 8-9, our Palisade cheer team went to Denver to compete in the state tournament.
Our cheer team has a big place here at Palisade High School and they are the ones who bring the spirit and cheer to our school. The team has worked very hard all season to make it to state. After a long and tough season of hard work and dedication, they achieved the accomplishment of going to state. This is huge for our cheer team and their hard work was well deserved. The team competed against 33 different cheer teams from around the state of Colorado. Palisade took 21st place. Madysan Bay, a sophomore on the cheer team says, “I think we did really well. We were really confident and we hit zero, which means we didn’t drop anyone and had zero deductions.” Competing in state can be very intense as our cheer team faced the best teams in our division. Madysan tells us that “Our biggest challenges were staying loud at the end of our fight song and being nervous to the point where we were forgetting things.” These minor mistakes were hardly noticeable due to the rest of the team's outstanding performance. Our cheer team never fails to accomplish what they set out to do. Madysan says, “I would say our strengths were our stunts. We hit them without dropping anyone.”
Wish our Palisade cheer team luck as they prepare to forge through and cheer for basketball season.
