The palisade girls' basketball team just finished a three-game tournament going against tough teams and landed 0-3 in the tournament. The team they played wednesday was Coal Ridge who are doing great things this year, they beat palisade 50-25. The next team Palisade played on thursday was Peak to Peak who Beat Palisade 45-22, and the last game on friday was against Moffat County who beat Palisade 56-41. Addie Ridderbush a sophomore that has an average of 12 points per game said “I think the first two didn’t go as well as we wanted to but the last one went pretty well and we grew a lot as a team even though we lost we did make a lot of changes and showed improvement.” While the tournament might have been a little bit of a downer the team is looking forward to the next game and learning from their mistakes. They are definitely showing what they have to offer and win. Addie Ritterbush also added, “We could improve on slowing down and running our offense more and our defense could always get better too”. When asked about what she thinks the team did well this last week Addie said, “I think our defense is really good with our press we work really hard getting steals, were good at pushing the floor and running it”. So with some things to improve on and some things the team has down they have a lot of room to grow and to step into gear for the season and hopefully get their goal of having a winning record this season. Come support the lady Bulldogs this week in they’re home tournament.
