Skating around on fresh ice with your closest friends and peers is one of the best holiday activities out there. Thanks to River City Sportsplex and our incredible Student Council Bulldogs, Palisade High School was able to provide this memorable experience for our students. The event had an incredible turnout with great music, fun lighting, and so many students that the ice skating rink began to run out of skates. Ivana Ceballos, is a Junior in StuCo and the head of the holiday committee which is in charge of all holiday related events. In an interview, she explained how she made the holiday magic happen. “I was in charge of the ‘Dogs on Ice’ event, and for that I called the ice skating rink about a month and a half in advance. They then gave my contact to Lisa, who is in charge of setting up events and such. It took about a week to secure it by deciding what day worked for both parties and leaving a deposit.” Thanks to our Student Council’s hard work, our students are always presented with fun and exciting events and activities. According to Ivana, the event circulated a great number of students, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. “In terms of the goal, I and the committee as well as SBA (the main heads of StuCo) would say everything played out great. We had a lot of attendants and the rink even ended up running out of a lot of skates in a few different sizes. I had quite a lot of people come up to me and others in StuCo saying how much they enjoyed the event which made me super happy and fulfilled with the work that my committee and I put in.” Thank you to our Student Council and River City Sportsplex for providing our students with a lively and enjoyable event. We’ll see you all at the next one. Go Bulldogs!
