Luke Fay is a 6’5” junior at Palisade High School, and a varsity basketball player. He has been picked to be our athlete of the week! We have had the pleasure of interviewing Luke and talking about his basketball career. Luke has been playing basketball since he was in 2nd grade, with this being his first year playing for the Palisade team. We asked him what his inspiration for basketball would be, “I would say my favorite player is probably Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant but I don’t really know about inspiration.” We also asked him how he got started playing, “My grandma, she put me in it, in like second grade.” We asked what he thought his biggest obstacle was, “I guess time management probably, it's kinda hard to keep up with school and practices and games.” We asked him what he thinks about playing with the Palisade team, “Yea I really like it, it is a really good family atmosphere and I really enjoy being part of the team.” Luke was able to tell us what he does outside of school, “Not much I don’t really have time for anything else, mostly just video games.” Luke is currently planning on continuing his basketball career after he graduates next year.
Luke’s stats after the win against Meeker are, Points: 17, Assists: 3, Rebounds: 5. Luke Fay has been getting used to Palisade since he transferred from Fruita High School at the beginning of this year. Luke was also one of the basketball boys who had shaved his head before the Meeker game, they came out looking different and ready to win.
