Female Athlete Of The Week: Adora Cameron

Palisade Junior, Adora Cameron, is the female Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Adora is on the varsity basketball team and plays guard and forward. She has 1.8 rebounds per game and 0.3 steals per game, along with 2 points per game. Adora has been playing basketball since 2nd grade. When asked what got her started she said, “My dad really loved basketball and he played in high school. He kind of set me up for basketball and I started loving it.” Adora has been playing for Palisade her freshman year. She said that she was “swinging varsity” her sophomore year. She said that this year she is full varsity. When asked what her greatest accomplishment is she said, “Making varsity and starting this year.” Adora's favorite thing about basketball is her “teammates.” She said, “I love pushing my teammates to get better and having fun with them even outside of practice or games.” Outside of school Adora likes “hanging out with friends and family.” No high school student can get through high school sports by themself. When asked who her biggest inspiration is she said, “I would say my biggest inspiration is my dad. He got me started and he taught me how to work hard.” The girls varsity team currently has an overall score of 3-6. Adora has had a good season so far with so much more ahead of her. Wish her luck as she finishes off the season strong.
