As the jolliest time of the year is coming quickly, so is the spirit week StuCo puts on to celebrate it. The Spirit Week is split between these last two weeks before break to give the student body a sense of joy during these weeks filled with tests and finals. There’s many different activities and themes to dress as which is hopefully contributed by everyone. The events throughout the week are the Candy Cane Sales going from the 5th through the 8th. If you have a special someone in mind you can buy them a candy cane which will be handed out to them for their 6th period class on the 8th. Candy canes are only a dollar and you need to know their 6th period in order to buy one. On the 8th there is free hot cocoa for everybody. The Dogs on Ice is on the 12th. Ice Skating at River Sportsplex from 7-9 is half price (6 dollars) if you say you’re going to the Palisade Ice Skating Event. There’s Christmas Tree decorating on the 13th, and a donut handout on the 19th.
The Spirit week Themes are Ugly Sweater on the 6th, Santa vs. Reindeer on the 7th, Holiday Rhymes on the 8th, Ski Bum on the 12th, Group Christmas on the 14th, and PJ Day on the 16th.
Mateo Ortiz, a member of StuCo said, “Participating in spirit week shows your school spirit and that you actually care about the community and increase the high school environment in a positive way.”
Remember Dogs, make sure to partake in these activities and themes, it’s only fun if everyone participates!
