For this week’s holiday spirit, students have been decorating the hallways for the Christmas season. Each hall and doorway all around the school is decorated in hopes of being the most festive. There is no competition this spirit week with the decorating though because this is actually the first time Palisade has decided to do anything with the halls for this holiday spirit week. A student in Stuco, Duncan Edwards had this to say about it: “This was sort of just an idea we had to help push the spirit week and the jingle bell rock. It wasn’t supposed to be as good as homecoming because we didn’t have the time or money for it. This week is not a competition for best hall or classes. The band hall didn’t decorate their hall this week because it was a first run and not super well put together and planned out. This was the first year that we did this and I think for the amount of effort, time, and money that was dedicated towards it, it turned out pretty good.” With this being the first time and last minute hall decorating event, some Palisade students may say that it had a good turn out and some might say that it could have possibly been better. But decorations in doorways and classrooms are still being created the rest of this week, so be on the lookout for new festive decorations on doors, walls, lockers, and more. Maybe even if you are interested and in the holiday mood, try to get involved and be a part of the fun of the creativities.
