Palisade Sophomore, Addie Ritterbush, is the female Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Addie plays volleyball, basketball, and she will be doing track this spring. Addie has had an awesome basketball season so far with a total of 2 steals per game and 5 rebounds per game. She also has 1.9 assists per game and .3 blocks per game. Addie has been playing basketball since about when she was in 2nd-3rd grade. When asked what got her started she said “I played on a rec team and then I played for club and travel teams. I then started playing for school.” She has been playing for Palisade High School since her freshman year. Addie’s favorite thing about the sport is “Getting to play together as a team, as well as accomplishing goals as a team. It is really fun being able to hang out with friends.” Other than sports, Addie has some other hobbies she likes to do. Addie said she enjoys “Skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, and a lot of stuff outdoors.” Like all high school athletes, Addie couldn’t have gotten through sports and academics by herself. When asked who her biggest inspiration is she said, “My mom or my volleyball coach because they really push me to do well. My mom played basketball in college so I think that is really cool. It is a goal of mine to be able to play a sport in college because I look up to people who have done that in my life.” When asked about what her greatest accomplishment is she said, “I got hurt and I had to get surgery last year. It was really hard because I wasn’t supposed to get back until 6-7 months. I got back early and I was able to play, which was really cool to be able to work hard to get back to my sport.” Addie’s advice she would give to an incoming freshman athlete is “Be prepared to work hard and don’t take anything for granted. Always have fun with your teammates and enjoy every moment in the sport.” Wish Addie luck as she finishes out the basketball season strong!
