New coach, new team, same dogs. The Palisade wrestling team got a new head coach this year. With many years of being the assistant coach for the Palisade Bulldogs, Bill Troutwine is stepping up to be the new head coach this year. Titus Steele a junior at Palisade and one of Palisades wrestlers has been wrestling since 7th grade but unfortunately wasn't able to wrestle last year, but will be back this year.”I've known him (Troutwine) since my brother was in wrestling many years ago and he's a great guy I'm excited to see what he does for the team this year” Titus said, “I'm really excited because last year I wasn't able to wrestle because I had a messed up back.” He said “I was really sad that I wasn't able to wrestle last year but I get to this year and it's going to be really fun. I think we have a strong set of juniors and seniors that are wrestling and I think switching our head coach from Ridgeway to Troutwine won't affect us too much because Troutwine has always been a big part of our team.”
The wrestling season starts on the 14th of November. There are optional practices every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Titus said, “I really just want to have fun this year and improve a lot throughout the season.” We look forward to seeing everyone come out, if you need any more information find Bill Troutwine in room 215.
