On October 29th, our Palisade Varsity Volleyball team went to Coal Ridge High School to play in the Coal Ridge tournament. The team won the tournament and well deserved this accomplishment as they put in hard work and dedication throughout the season.
The varsity volleyball team has been working very hard all year to get into the Coal Ridge tournament and their work has definitely paid off. Sophomore, Grace McAnany says, “We worked really hard to get to this tournament. It was definitely not easy. ” On top of the hard work put into this tournament, there were lots of hard obstacles faced for Palisade. Grace tells us that “...right before one of our games, two of our players collided and we think that they both got concussions. One of our players, Sophia DeWitt, had to sit out for some of the games because she was throwing up. That's something we had to work around.” The Palisade varsity volleyball team played four different teams in this tournament. They won every game including the championship game. Grace says, “The games went really well. We had to work around our players and figure out how to win without Sophia. We have done this a lot this season, working around different rotations with the different players.” Our Palisade varsity volleyball team has accomplished so much this season with the goal of making it to state. Grace says, “This weekend we have regionals and depending on how well we do at regionals, decides whether we go to state or not.”
Wish our volleyball team luck as they finish this season and hopefully go to state.
