Finally, justice is being brought to the many families who’ve lost their loved ones in the Idaho murder. The suspect Bryan Kohberger was finally arrested in Pennsylvania and is going to face 1 charge of burglary and 4 charges of first-degree murder for the stabbings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin a few months prior in Moscow Washington. The search has been long and dire trying to find the killer. Kohberger is a 28 year-old PhD student in criminology who was said to have an interesting fascination with the mind of a serial killer. On the knife sheath found at the crime scene was DNA matching Kohberger, and the surviving roommate saw a masked man with the same characteristics as him walk out of the house hours before she called law enforcement. His apartment was only 11 miles away from the scene of the murder. Through all this evidence though, there is yet to be a motive brought to the surface of why he killed those 4 people.
Emily Hardin, a freshman at Palisade, said, “I think it’s an awful thing that’s happened to those 4 people. Even though there is no clear motive I still think he did it because of the DNA that was found on the knife. A lot of times there are just crazy people who just want to kill and he might be one of them.”
Kohberger will be seen in court on January 12th to fight against the charges brought against him. We keep our thoughts and prayers open to the families who have suffered and hope justice will finally be brought after months of waiting.
