With all of our winter sports up and running there is much to talk about with admin about the activities at the basketball games and touch on new with running with the pack. We spoke to our assistant principal, Mr. Howard. We asked him to expand more on what games they have and are planning to bring to the basketball games, “So one thing we just tried to do this year at halftime during the basketball games is interactive stuff for the kids and the fans. So far we had a money booth at our first game, we have also had a life-size skeet ball that we have done a couple of times.” With people who aren’t familiar with life-size skeet balls, Howard explained it, “So it is like a big skateboard ramp and behind it, there are trash cans and you roll a volleyball up the ramp and if it lands in one of the trash cans you win the prize in the trash can.” There will also be a money booth this Saturday at the basketball game against Grand Junction so make sure you guys get there and you get your pack points for a chance to win a big prize at the end of the semester. Mr. Howard continues to say, “We have got a handful of things that we want to make the event a little bit more entertaining, a little bit more fun, give them something to do during half time.” We asked why they decided to start up the games this year, “Main reason is just to increase attendance. We want our students to be at the events. If they are not playing we want them there supporting their classmates and peers. We wanted to add the games to make the students look forward to being a part of the basketball games.”
The school has decided to do everything in its power to make our school events more interesting and fun. Running with the pack has all the dates and times of during-school events and out-of-school events. Make sure to download the SuperFan app so you get all the details.
