It is officially the start of the second semester for the 2022-2023 school year. How are Palisade High School students adjusting to this new semester and preparing for the last half of the school year?
With the start of a new semester, the pressure of classes and grades is starting to rise here at Palisade High School. Palisade students are preparing for their last semester of this school year and this is usually the time that students try to organize their lives and find new ways to deal with the new tension and stress. Makayla Trousdale, a pre-DP sophomore student here at Palisade says, “Over the semester I set the goal of being organized and managing my time wisely especially with playing sports.” Every student has many curricular as well as non-curricular responsibilities. The key is figuring out which methods of time management and strategies work around your own schedule. While many students are nervous about this new semester, some are very excited, and some students fit right in between. Makayla says, “I am honestly both excited and nervous. Having classes with new people is so exciting and getting to know them better. But this semester is nerve racking knowing that next year I will be a junior.” For the sophomore class, this semester will be tense as they prepare their sophomore projects so that they can present to the freshman in February. After receiving feedback from a pre-DP student, let's hear from a student who is not pre-DP. Angela Lukesh, a sophomore at Palisade says, “I’m more excited for this semester because I feel like I will do better this semester. I definitely plan to accomplish better grades this semester.”
Hang in there and make this last semester one to remember.
