On November 12th, our Palisade varsity football team played their first playoff game and won with a score of 14-7.
After making it to the playoff this season, our varsity football team is already off to a great start. They traveled to Greeley to play against Northridge High School knowing that they were going to face a 9-1 team. In the first quarter of the game the Bulldogs stopped North Ridge from scoring and after the first quarter the score was still 0-0. The Bulldogs forged and fought through the game and finally took the win. The Bulldogs played a pretty tough team so the game naturally came with its struggles. Junior and running back for the team, Kaleb Wells says, “One of our biggest challenges was when things got hard, we kind of got a bad mindset that things are falling apart but normally as a team, we kind of get back together and communicate it out.” Even through the obstacles and trials, our Bulldogs always have their many strengths that they can always depend on. Kaleb says, “We did really well at communicating and bringing each other back up. That’s what we’ve been working on.” Making it into the playoffs is a huge accomplishment for our football team. As the team prepares for their next playoff game this Saturday, Kaleb adds, “We could work on communicating on how to strategize on the field and get that game plan going.” Wish our varsity football team luck as they play their second playoff game against Green Mountain High School this Saturday.
