In the new decade of 2030 the ban on diesel and petrol cars has the possibility of being set in place. Getting rid of all cars nowadays that run off of gas and diesel fuel, replacing them with electric vehicles. The goal is to have all electric cars for a cleaner environment. Getting rid of the fossil fuels and gasses released from cars today. But that could also lead to an issue of the electricity being used. Johnny Webb, from Mile High Muscle has this to say on the topic: “I don’t like the idea of getting rid of diesel and cars. To make diesel it takes less coal, to make electricity it takes more. And when you have an electric car if you’re driving and suddenly you need to charge your car, that takes hours. Compared to if you’re driving a car that runs off the gas you can just pull over and fill your tank up in five minutes. Plus with everyone owning an electric car, and coming home from work every night they’re all going to be charging their cars for work the next day. That’s bound to cause a blackout. It’s taken years from when cars were first brought into the world to be fully functional around the world because of the amount of time it took to produce so many and put in so many gas stations. If they’re going to ban these cars in 2030 it’s going to take years as well and there are only so many people that can even afford it.” So is the idea of banning diesel and petrol cars a good idea for the environment? Or a bad idea because of the time, energy, and cost?
