Held at River City SportsPlex a hockey game “Pink the Rink” was held Saturday night for cancer awareness supported by CMU. For the benefit of the St. Mary’s Hospital cancer assistance fund CMU played against NAU. With an unfortunate loss of 3-5 it was still for a good cause and was a good time. A watcher of the game, Mr. Smith has this to say: “It was really fun, ten out of ten recommend. The one thing I would definitely suggest is to just get to River City really early and dress really warm. I’m not sure if it was just because it was Pink the Rink or because it was a CMU game but it was super busy. The line was wrapped all the way around the building. There’s definitely not enough seats inside the building so people were just standing wrapped around the rink. We almost didn’t go because we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to get in. But it was really fun and worth it.” So if you are wanting to go to River City SportsPlex for any upcoming hockey games make sure that you layer up and show up extra early if you want to get a good view of the rink. With concessions of warm drinks and food like hot chocolate and soft pretzels to keep you heated up. If you want to keep up with any of the CMU hockey games you can look at their schedules on cmumavericks.com. Not only to keep up with the winter sports but more exciting sports events are coming up.
