This month we all have the pleasure of recognizing Mrs. Kathy. She has been awarded teacher of the month because she is always helping out around the school and is friends with all the kids and we are happy she is getting shown some appreciation. We were able to get an interview with Mrs. Kathy and she has been working at Palisade for 8 years. We asked her about her life before she had come to Palisade, “I was a grocery manager at Safeway for 13 years. I used to work at Appleton for a couple of years, Appleton elementary. I worked here nights and I worked over there as a lead and I came here when Fred retired completely.” We wanted to get to know Mrs. Kathy and what she likes to do when she is not working, “I’m a homebody, I like being at home with my animals and stuff, playing in the garden. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. One was a rescue cat that we found and the mom of the one came from here when I was a night custodian: We think someone deserted it and we brought it home and thought it was a male turned out to be a female.” We asked Mrs. Kathy what her favorite part of working at Palisade was, “I like the kids, I like it here, I like the staff and everything and it’s sort of a family and you know stitches to chop you come to work every day and have fun and stuff that’s what I like.”
We love and appreciate everyone on the staff team but sometimes we need to give a little more credit to our custodian team. They do a lot and make the school look very nice so let’s make sure we thank not only Mrs. Kathy but the whole custodial staff!
