You will be creating a Colorado state map that shows the different parts of a map. Complete the following steps in your random notebook:
Plan:
List the 6 largest cities in Colorado (shown on picture)
Put a star next to the state capital.
Look here for landmarks or features in Colorado. Write down 4 that you will include on your map.
Make a map key that shows the little pictures and what they stand for on your map.
Practice drawing a compass rose.
Map:
At this point, you should be ready to create your map. This should include the things from your plan and the things we learned in this unit.
Your map should have the following:
Title
Map Scale
Map Key
Mileage Key
Compass Rose
