George Rodrigue was an American artist from Louisiana. His series of Blue Dog paintings were based on a Cajun legend called Loup-garou. The Schafer 5th Graders create their own Blue Dogs!

Arirang is a Korean folk song that is part of Korea’s cultural heritage. It is over 600 years old and sung in times of joy, sorrow, and celebration. The lyrics translate to, “You are going over Arirang Hill. My love, you are leaving me. Your feet will be sore before you go ten miles.”

She entered her lyrics in a contest with a million other children from 57 countries, and her lyrics won. She describes her dream of children around the world coming together to build peace, prosperity, and love for all mankind.
