OCTOBER 5
Board of Education Meeting With plan review

livestream.d45.org

On September 21, 2020, the Board of Education viewed a presentation and discussed next steps with District Administration.

District 45 will begin the 2020/2021 school year with Full-Remote Learning for all students. Full-Remote Learning will provide both synchronous (learning that occurs when there is a scheduled time for the teacher and students to meet virtually and instruction is delivered in real time) and asynchronous (learning that occurs when students are working independently at their own pace and time. Learning takes place by accessing information virtually but does not require live or simultaneous interaction with a teacher or class) learning opportunities for students with a strong emphasis on synchronous learning.

We understand the many challenges Full-Remote Learning may present for families. For families who do not think their schedule will align with synchronous learning, a self-paced remote learning option will be available. If you would like to learn about this option please send an email to remotelearning@d45.org.

WHEN WILL PARENTS RECEIVE UPDATES?

We are constantly monitoring the situation. The District will discuss next steps at the October 5 Board of Education meeting. If or when we move to in-person learning, we will allow for a transition period so that parents and staff can prepare for the next learning model.

Ultimately, our primary goal is to return to in-person instruction when conditions allow, and unfortunately, we are unable to provide a precise date as to when that will occur. The extent to which we are able to implement our original plan will be evaluated over time.

TOP QUESTIONS

District 45 intends to publish short lists of the most frequently asked questions on a regular basis.

Food Services

Grab-n-go lunch and breakfast will be available for families to pick up at all District 45 schools each Wednesday between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Lunch and breakfast for seven days will be bagged together.

District 45 will serve meals to all children 18 and under. Children do not have to attend a District 45 school to receive a meal. Only one pick-up per student will be allowed.

You may pick up meals at any District 45 school. Signs will be posted at all schools to identify the location for pick-up. Face coverings must be worn and social distancing must be practiced while out of vehicles and standing in line for meals.

WHEN WILL D45 RETURN TO IN-PERSON LEARNING?

Ultimately, our primary goal is to return to in-person instruction when conditions allow, and unfortunately, we are unable to provide a precise date as to when that will occur. However, the District will continue to assess the situation and provide you with updates as planning unfolds. The extent to which we are able to implement our original plan will be evaluated over time.
