Resources

The pandemic and stay-at-home orders have resulted in a great deal of stress and economic hardship. The community has a variety of resources to continue supporting families during this difficult time.

The Tri-town YMCA will begin coordinating the provision of meals. The district 45 website has the full schedule of locations and times. In our area, meal pickup will occur at York Center Elementary School on Monday through Friday, from 9:00AM to 11:00AM and at Stevenson Elementary (18W331 15th St) on Monday through Friday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. (The last district delivery will be on Monday, May 18 and six meals will be delivered.)

A wide range of community agencies are providing much needed help and support. A couple of helpful online directories with descriptions of the provided services are found at www.dupagecris.org and at www.findhelp.org. You can also find the District list of community resources, the District list of counseling resources, and a list of additional counseling resources below. Many community mental health agencies are providing telehealth services.

In addition to the mental resources listed in the directories, Amita Streamwood Healthcare is providing support group sessions at their facility for children and teens with a wide range of mental health concerns, including managing anxiety, controlling anger, and social skills. Call 630-540-3924 for more information.

If you have any questions accessing services, please email Paul Flaherty at pflaherty@d45.org or call 630-516-7541. Thank you for continuing to follow CDC guidelines in order to stay healthy and safe this summer.
