Supportive Social Work Services at Stevenson and York Center Schools in District 45
Paul Flaherty, LCSW, is the District 45 school social worker assigned to support York Center Elementary School and Stevenson Elementary School.
School social workers support the social emotional growth of our students and assist in the creation of a positive school culture to enhance learning for all.
Supportive school social work services include crisis intervention, social skills instruction, teacher and staff consultation, small group and individual interventions that address individual education goals in the areas of emotional regulation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and social interaction.
School social workers assess the function of school behaviors and develop behavior intervention plans for individual students. We identify community resources and network with community partners to address the basic needs of our students and their families.
