What's in a name? 

We'll be needing help from our families and communities to find the very best name for the new school. Selections will be submitted to a committee, which will then make a recommendation to the School Board for the final decision.

4:150 Naming Buildings and Facilities

Recognizing that the name for a school building, facility, or ground or field reflects on its public image, the Board’s primary consideration will be to select a name that enhances the credibility and stature of the school or facility. Any request to name or rename an existing facility should be submitted to the Board. When a facility is to be named or renamed, the Board President will appoint a special committee to consider nominations and make a recommendation, along with supporting rationale, to the Board.

Fast Facts:

• April 1, 2024 - Construction on the renovation of the existing structure and the addition scheduled to begin.

• $33.8 million - total cost of construction, including renovating the existing building and building the addition, adding parking lots and bus access, and outdoor playground and learning spaces.

• 70,000 square feet - size of school. (similar to Cortland Elementary)

• 3-section elementary school - there will be three classrooms of kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades. It will also have 4 additional classrooms that are available for growth and for a variety of uses. 

• 450-500 student capacity

• Building staffing: 

  • • 53 teachers

    • 11 office (nurse, office profesionals, media, principals, etc)

    • 41 paraprofessionals

    • 5-8 custodial/kitchen
