5th Grade

Students are still hard at work on their Candy Corn Compositions! The month is almost coming to an end, which means that they are almost to the point of performing their composition for a grade. Next week, we will take out our African drums, and begin practicing our compositions on them before we perform them the next week. Due to band and orchestra students only having music one time a week, our 5th grade students who have music twice a week have really stepped up and have been fantastic leaders and helpers so no one falls behind. Great work 5th grade!

Happy October! That means we are starting our Candy Corn Compositions. Students are given a 16 beat grid and some Halloween themed erasers. They have to choose from a given form, and compose a spooky Halloween rhythm that will be played on the drums. They will have the whole month of October to work on this project.
