Welcome Centers and Enrollment

Family Welcome Center staff members are available to assist New York City families with enrollment in pre-Kindergarten through high school. If you are new to New York City or moving to the city soon, visit the New Students page to learn about how to register and what documents to bring. Visit the Transfers page to learn how to request a transfer. Family Welcome Centers are open 8am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.

Family Welcome Center for Districts 25 and 26

Special Education

District Committees on Special Education (CSEs) coordinate and carry out the special education process for students who are not enrolled in NYCDOE district schools. CSEs serve families in the district where a child's school is located.

Committees on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) coordinate and carry out the special education process for preschool children ages three to five. CPSEs serve families in the district where a family resides. To find your home district, search your address.

High School Superintendents

If you're a parent of a child in a school with high school grades (including 6 to 12 schools) and you can’t find an answer at the school level, please contact your High School Superintendent and Family Support Coordinator or call 718-935-2200 (Monday-Friday, 8am - 6pm).
