SOMETHING BROKEN ISSOMETHING WELL-LOVED. BUT DOES THAT APPLY TO HUMANS? - Serika LaguitI have had too much
Sugar. I think that is why
My tongue hurts right now.
- Serika Laguit
He was a helping man,
Helping strangers on the street,
Helping elders cross the walk,
Helping family with his hands.
He was a simple man;
Tried to impress the ladies,
Always loyal to his friends,
Always loved his family.
He was a strong man;
Arm-wrestled with his older
Brother and won every match.
Used his strength against no one.
So I've heard
So many good things about him.
Now I know
That I never really knew him.
All I knew
Was his messy room,
With glow-in-the-dark stars.
I'll go back,
Step into his room.
I'll sit and turn out the lights,
And I'll wish
Upon a bright star,
That he could be bright, not far.
I'll wish that
I could see him, clear,
Without any telescope.
I'll wish that
I saw his shining
Glory as he lived to see
Twenty-eight.
He abused his soul,
But he lived to twenty-eight.
Now, at least,
I can believe that
He was indeed a strong man.
