Production Practicum III

2 cr.

This course is intended for students interested in serving specific UMD Theatre productions as a member of the Production Team. Production Practicum III is not based on the number of hours a student puts into the production, but how well the responsibilities of the position are executed. Positions require certain levels of expertise, please consult the area supervisor concerning positions in which you are interested. All positions are required to attend Production Meetings for the play to which they are assigned.

Job titles that qualify for Production Practicum III credit include, but are not necessarily restricted to:

• Technical Director

• Assistant Technical Director

• Scenic Designer

• Assistant Scenic Designer

• Costume Designer

• Makeup/Hair Designer

• Lighting Designer

• Sound Designer

• Projection Designer

• Master Carpenter

• Scenic Charge Artist/Scenic Artist

• Properties Coordinator

• Wardrobe Supervisor

• Makeup Supervisor

• Master Electrician

• Sound Engineer

• Dramaturg

Due to the unique demands of each UMD Theatre production, students interested in enrolling in Production Practicum III must first arrange specific duties with area supervisors before seeking permission to enroll in the course.

Once an area supervisor confirms your duties for a specific production, complete and submit the following form. Permission will then be given to enroll in the course.
