BFA Juries
The UMD Theatre Department B.F.A. Design/Production and Stage Management Portfolio Presentation and Jury
Who: All 1st, 2nd and 3rd year B.F.A. Design/Production and Stage Management students
What: Class/production work to be juried at the end of Fall Semester.
Jury will consist of a submitted digital portfolio presented in Google Slides and a twenty-minute feedback session.
Jury is intended to assess and critique the progress of the BFA student.
PORTFOLIO and JURY REQUIREMENTS
Jury Guidelines:
1. All BFA Portfolios and Juries will be digitally submitted to Curtis Phillips by January 1st, 2025
2. The UMD Theatre Department Faculty and Staff will review portfolios and provide feedback to your advisor.
3. Students will sign up for feedback sessions for January 14th with the faculty.
4. Each jury session will last for 20 minutes, led by your advisor.
Portfolio Display Requirements:
1. Portfolio should include work that represents you as a theatrical artist. Dates of work shown should range from the present to your last interview/jury.
2. Include class work, photos and paperwork for academic and professional productions. Also include craft, drafting, drawing and artwork.
3. Please include work from various classes taken.
4. If possible, visually demonstrate the full process for all projects being displayed.
5. Don't worry if you lack examples - just show us your best work..
6. All work will be submitted as Google slides - how you choose to organize and present your digital portfolio is up to you, but imagery should represent your personality as a theatrical artist.
7. Please include a resume with your portfolio.
