The D79: Think B.I.G. Team is all about:

  • Blended learning – team members will learn how to provide instruction through a combination of traditional classroom materials and digital/online materials, with more student control over the time, place, path or pace of their learning
  • Interdisciplinary courses – team members will work together to develop courses that combine learning standards from two or more departments into a single course
  • Google tools –team members will become certified experts in Google tools, which are free and accessible everywhere there is internet

On December 18, 19 and 20 of 2018 we conducted out first Think BIG Learning Walk - teachers visited one another's classes to see how we are all Thinking BIG!

Christopher Williams used Google Hangout to connect his class on 96th street to students at Longwood in the Bronx...
...while Alejandro Jhonson connected his students in the Bronx to the students on 96th street!

On June 11, 2018 D79's Think B.I.G. team visited Google HQ for an amazing training. We learned more about Drive, Docs, Forms and Classroom; we learned about the Google Applied Digital Skills Curriculum and we got a preview of the future of Ed Tech in the NYC DOE.
