VHTO Girl's Day

Short description of the project

Technology and engineering has a huge impact on our lives and on society. Yet the diversity of its creators and makers is very limited, only 16% of the technical and IT professionals in the Netherlands are women.That is why VHTO is committed to increasing the participation of girls and women in science, technology and IT. Fix the system, not the girls is the starting point of our multi-year strategy. We offer science-based interventions in education, for employers and society.

More women in science, technology and IT are desirable, because a technology sector that is a reflection of society offers:

• equality of opportunity for girls and women;

• economic opportunities for our society;

• better technologies for our society.
