I was born and raised on the small island of Molokai in Hawaii, my upbringing taught me to value community and citizenship as a leader. I earned my B. A. in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University and later attended Concordia University to earn my Masters in Educational Administration along with my administrative credential. Prior to teaching I was Program Director for a communication consulting firm based in Beverly Hills. I have also worked in marketing and PR. I am also certified in leadership training through The Boomerang Project. I continue to work in the communication and leadership private sector and am currently an adjunct professor of education at Mount Saint Mary University in Los Angeles.  I come from a family of educators thus having access to a resource of diverse educational strategies, practices, and technology. I look forward to being a catalyst for positive change.
