I noticed that I had bought a bunch of bananas at the grocery store last week, preparing for my kids to go to school last week. Well, since that didn't happen. . . the bananas didn't get eaten. So they were sitting on my counter, begging to be used. I decided that I should make my Aunt's FAMOUS banana bread. I was also thinking that I would virtually share it with you! Don't tell her that I gave you the recipe. . . I might get into trouble for that one... Just kidding.
Aunt Deb's Famous Banana Bread-
Cream together:
-1/2 cup Shortening
- 1 cup of sugar
Add in 2 eggs and stir together until combined
Next, Stir in 4 mashed bananas
Sift together into a bowl first, than add:
-2 cups of flour
-1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Optional- (I didn't add these)- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Stir all of this together and pour into a greased loaf pan
Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 min- Check with a toothpick and don't over bake.
Make sure that you get your Parent/Guardian/Caregivers permission before you bake it. I will post a picture when it comes out of the oven!!
Pro Tip- Wrap it with tin foil when it comes out of the oven.
