University High School is located in Spokane Valley, Washington. We are one of the high schools in the Central Valley School District. Our community is full of beautiful nature and people! The UHS Instrumental Music Program features multiple ensembles including: Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, String Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra. The Music Department has a long history of success and respect throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our program goals revolve around personal development, community outreach, and inspiring a lifelong passion for music.

• Master's Degree in Music Education from Eastern Washington University

• Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Western Washington University

• Associate's of Fine Arts in Music from Spokane Falls Community College

Teaching Philosophy: 

I believe music and music education are lifelong passions and pursuits. The skills learned in the music classroom transfer seamlessly into other aspects of life. Skills such as: teamwork and collaboration, exposure and respect for new cultures, passion and determination, and learning to fail while maintaining positivity are all incredible aspects of a music education. Becoming comfortable and confident in yourself is the ultimate goal of a well-rounded music education. I have the utmost respect for student's and their individuality.
