Alexandria Wilkerson-Owens

Alex began her teaching career as a long term, pre-ap math substitute teacher at Viola Cobb Elementary.  She was hired on full time as a 6th grade math teacher and later transitioned to 5th grade math.  She worked as the math team leader and was selected as CISD’s 2013 Elementary Teacher of the Year.  She then became the campus math coach and worked on the elementary math curriculum team.  She later became an elementary district math specialist where she worked primarily with 3rd through 5th grade math.  She now works as the Math Coordinator for PreK through 12th grade and is the First-Year Teacher Academy Coordinator.  Alex has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from University of Houston and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
