Family and friends,

Second grade is an exciting time where we see so much growth in our students, both academically and socially. I’m happy to be an encourager and supporter of your child this year.

Besides learning how to be better readers, thinkers, writers, and mathematicians this year, our classroom will emphasize the character traits that make students successful in everyday situations and in their communities. Our students will learn and practice skills in working collaboratively with others as well as how to be excellent independent workers to help prepare them for the upper grades.

This year will be my 27th year in CVUSD and my 28th year as a teacher. During that time, I’ve taught 1st grade, kindergarten, music, summer school, combo classes, and my favorite of all, 2nd grade! I received my undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, and my teaching credential at Cal State Hayward. Since then, I’ve continued to take many courses, workshops, and trainings to enhance my teaching and make the classroom an environment where every student can be successful. When I’m not teaching, my favorite things to do are reading, traveling and taking walks with my husband Eric, gardening in my backyard, watching old movies, and cuddling with my cat, Mr. Chips.
