Ms. D'Antonio

Welcome to First Grade!

I have not always been a Bay Area resident! At 18, I moved from my hometown, Fresno, to attend UC Berkeley. After receiving my degree in English Literature, I completed my teaching credential at CSUH. I then moved to San Leandro and I taught high school and middle school English for six years. I then completed my multiple subject credential and taught Kindergarten, third and fourth grades. Four years ago I moved to Castro Valley to teach at Proctor. My own two children attend Creekside, and we love being members of the CV community! In my free time I like to read, drink coffee, do home improvement projects and travel.

My teaching philosophy is based on the idea that being able to learn about the world around you will help you enjoy life to the fullest. Reading is imperative. Please read to your child each day. They need to hear your voice read a variety of texts. Involve your child in math by doing daily activities with them that involve counting, measuring and estimating.

Please help your child come to school prepared by getting them to bed early. Make sure they have a healthy breakfast and a healthy snack to eat at recess. Please dress your child for PE on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I am looking forward to a great year in First Grade!!
