I'm Mrs. Eckloff!
Teaching is the inevitable conclusion to my life's passions and given talents. I am so excited to work with you and your child this school year! This is my twelfth year teaching at Proctor where the majority of my time has been spent in first grade. Castro Valley has been and continues to be my home, and so I'm happy to give back to the community that has helped me learn so much.
I graduated from Castro Valley High School and attended Sacramento State. I love nothing more than learning and growing, so seven years after getting my teaching credential I returned to school to earn a Masters In Education from Cal State East Bay with an emphasis in reading. As a student who struggled in school, I attempt to lead by example and to instill a love for learning in all of my students, so that they develop a desire to become life-long learners.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Andrew, who teaches history and philosophy at Arroyo High School. We have a 2 year old son, Peter (who loves balls, cars and anything that moves!), a Yorkshire Terrier, named Emma, and we live here in Castro Valley. Some of the things I enjoy doing in my free time are cooking, reading (Non-Fiction), crafting and experiencing new things through travel (both near and far).
A few of my favorites:
- Color: Green & Blue
- Movie: Goonies & Inside Out
- Food: Mexican
- Drink: Tea
- Book: Too Many Toys by David Shannon & Stiff by Mary Roach
I am Mrs. Davis!
This year I look forward to working with your child and helping her/him reach for his/her dreams through education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him/her make a positive contribution to our world.
The Bay Area has been my home most of my life. I received my K-12 education in San Leandro (Jefferson, Bancroft and SLHS). I left the area to attend UC Davis and graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics. I returned home, became a substitute teacher to help my mom who was recovering from surgery, and looked for a job in my field of study. It did not take long for me to realize teaching was the best career choice for me.
I am married to an amazing man, Jim, who works hard to keep the electricity flowing through our community as an Electric Crew Foreman for PG&E. We reside in Castro Valley and have three sons. Our twins, Curtis and Kyle, are entering their first year at community college. Our youngest, Justin who once was a Proctor student, is in eighth grade at Creekside Middle School. We also have a backyard full of rabbits and chickens. In my free time I enjoy working on house projects, crocheting, playing instruments and having quiet time.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this school year!
