Meet Mr. Noodles! He is our classroom gopher snake. He was rescued after someone took him out the wild to be a pet and then decided they did not want him anymore.

Gopher snakes (Pituophis catenifer) are a common Bay Area species. Harmless to people, they often live in gopher burrows - hence, gopher snake - and eat primarily small mammals such as mice, voles, and gophers.
